PlayStation Mobile for Android gives you the freedom to access your PlayStation account while you're on the road. It gives you all of the menus that you'd expect to find when you actually turn on your PS4, but they're in a smaller size.

The promise of social interaction is probably the biggest draw to the app. You can chat with other gamers and set dates to take on the biggest opponents without ever having to actually start up your PS4. If you primarily use your PlayStation account for communication anyway, then you might want to look at this app as yet another way to stay in touch with all of your friends.

Serious gamers will appreciate the fact that they can check up on their virtual trophy rooms. You'll know right away if you're still a certain number of chores away from bagging a big award. When you meet gamers in person, you'll be able to show them just how many trophies you've collected by simply pulling out your mobile device.

Unfortunately, the interface isn't anywhere near as intuitive as it would be with a mouse and keyboard or even a stock PS4 controller. The developers didn't change things around to fit the mobile screen, so this app will take a bit of getting used to.

Once you do, however, you'll be able to check your progress in every game you play whenever you want to. You'll also be free to redeem codes and make in-app purchases, which is good news for those who might be out and find a PS4 product code attached to something that they just bought on the spot.
